The Importance of Early Childhood Music Education
In the last three decades, researchers and scientists developed a great interest regarding the importance of musical exposure in early life, the significance of music in children’s lives and the contribution of musical interaction to personal development. Scientists, psychologists and medical doctors confirm in their studies the importance and benefits of early exposure to music and to musical interaction.
The world of music and movement are important components in children’s future development. Experiences in these areas in the early years (0-6 years) have implications for the child’s learning abilities and psychomotor development as well as emotional and intellectual development. Practice musical activities may promote concentration, focus and attention. These activities also promote academic ability and language skills, thinking, imagination and creativity. Therefore, it is recommended to expose children to musical interaction and musical activities in order to build a solid foundation for the child?s future development.
